Vertigo and Dizziness
Vertigo and dizziness are two of the most frequent causes for medical consultation, and many of these patients also suffer from buzzing in the ears (tinnitus) or from hearing loss. Neuro-otology is concerned with the study of these disorders.
Fortunately, most of the causes that produce these symptoms are identifiable and amenable to modern study methods.
FLENI has a multidisciplinary team of neurologists, otorhinolaryngologists, and physical therapist who work jointly to diagnose, to treat and to rehabilitate patients with this complains
By means of modern methods of diagnosis as COMPUTER-ASSISTED VIDEONYSTAGMOGRAPHY, the most frequent afflictions of the vestibular system may be diagnosed and treated, including benign paroxysmal position vertigo (the most frequent cause, due to the presence of free-floating debris (otoliths) from the macula of the utricle), vestibular neuritis and Meniere's disease, among others. Recently, POSTUROGRAPHY has been incorporated, which is a sophisticated computer-assisted system that allows diagnosing and treating more complex pictures and those of non-vestibular origin that traditional methods fail to disclose. All this contributes to a more precise diagnosis and a better treatment, for which FLENI has a gymespecially designed for vestibular and gait rehabilitation, with professionals devoted to the management of this type of disorders
