Known and respected for its excellence in neurology and neurosurgery, FLENI is now delivering high complexity cardiovascular services to meet the needs of the community in the areas of Cardiology and Interventionism.
To respond to the community, on December 2001, FLENI developed the Cardiovascular Department to provide highest standard integrated cardiac and vascular care.
The new site has ten cardiovascular intensive care beds in the areas of Coronary Unit and Cardiovascular Recovery, eight Heart Telemetry inpatient beds service including two beds for heart transplant recovery patients, an ER with an eight-bed day hospital and the Precordial Pain Unit . There is also a Cardiac Catheterization Lab with two fully equipped, cutting edge, rooms and an operating room with cardiovascular surgery equipment.

Imaging includes Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), helicoidal CAT, Nuclear Medicine, Echo Doppler, and other procedures in an integrated, collaborative approach and scientific exchange with the Cardiology section.
